Are you looking for things to do with kids in Eagle, Idaho?
Our family recently moved here and we are finding some amazing things to do with kids in Eagle, Idaho. Starting with this post our family is going to jump in with both feet and explore all that our beautiful area has to offer. And of course, my camera will be with me as I document all of our fun outings and share them with you here. By the end of the summer we should have a great list compiled!
The following is my initial list of what I hope to capture this summer – please let us know if we are leaving anything out in the comments!
Gardening, Eagle State Park (and the zipline), picnics, football games, fishing, night sky watching, skateparks, Eagle Bike Park, Golfing, Cookouts, and the Farmer’s Market. And this is just stuff right here in Eagle!
Our first stop is growing a garden!
The garden is my favorite place to be. It is no secret that after living in Valley of the Sun that is Phoenix, Arizona (AKA – the burning inferno of death) that my whole family was chomping at the bit to have a garden this year. My hubs built some amazing raised beds and a little secret garden that I will totally be adding onto every year.
This little beauty has been growing for 2 months, my VegTrug from Gardener’s Supply Company in Vermont. It has a handy frame and cover that zips over the garden bed for those frosty nights. With a ton of help from my son J-man, we managed to always remember to cover it. The results were amazing and we have been eating fresh kale and lettuce for about 4 weeks. The cabbage and cauliflower have a bit to go but they are gorgeous.
This bed is filled with mostly plants that were purchased at Zamzows! My favorite local place to buy plants. They are so sweet and helpful there and my kids love to check out all of the small animals that they have there – win/win. And didn’t hubby do a nice job on my beds?!?
Here is our gorgeous lettuce. It deserved a shot of it’s own!
After fighting over the piece of the lettuce the youngest won! Watching my kids fight over who is going to eat the fresh veggies makes all the work worth it!
This spring we are totally going a little nuts enjoying all of the flowers and rainbows.
Here are our climbing roses. They are Joseph’s Coat and I just adore the colors. My husband has wanted to plant roses since we got married and this is the first house that we can so we are psyched. And just maybe went a tad bit overboard.
We didn’t grow these but…. YUM!
So excited to have ever-bearing strawberries so we have fruit for the entire season. We can only pick when we have 3 ripe ones so my kids can each enjoy one.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you grow something delicious with your kids this summer. And make sure you check back for more amazing things to do with kids in Eagle, Idaho!
